HANNAH
PARRY
Recorder &
violin
Recorder player and historical violinist Hannah Parry is a Master's graduate of the Royal College of Music, where she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Rose Bowl, the RCM McKenna Prize for gaining the highest exam mark in a baroque instrument, and was a prize winner in the RCM Concerto Competition. Her studies were funded by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and two of her recorders were provided by the Royal Philharmonic Society. She has also completed a Master’s degree in Classical and Romantic period violin performance at the Abbaye aux Dames in Saintes, France, and she now performs on both instruments with various early music ensembles in London and Paris, with performances including at Buckingham Palace, the Royal Festival Hall, La Seine Musicale, and other venues across Europe.
Beyond historical music, Hannah explores contemporary applications of the recorder, continually expanding its role in modern compositions. Her versatility across both historical and contemporary genres has led to performances across Europe, South America, and North America, with a deep commitment to both preserving and innovating within early music traditions.
